Few words about the reasons this work was done.
Photobanks sell stock images, and they sell them well. Photographers shoot images, edit them and upload them to photobanks. No problem here.
However, there is a bottleneck in between. Every, and I mean EVERY photobank has an additional step that you have do "by hand" after the picture was uploaded. You have to go to the image's web page (at photobank web site), to verify all the information, to check the "yes, I agree" field, and to click "submit".
If you have many images to upload, it takes a lot of time.
To automate this task, as well as to have a fast and convenient way of editing images' meta info, I have created this solution.
It is a set of scripts (script is a programming language) that you can run using Cortex software. I chose Cortex, because it has all tools this task requires.
To handle the task, you have to download the attached archive, unzip it, read the manual.htm, then copy scripts to Cortex's folder (you have to have Cortex installed, of course).
Then you need to run script 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Currently, Shutterstock, Fotolia, DreamsTime and Crestock are supported, I am working on it. In the meantime, if you create your own scripts, to support other photobanks, please post them here (if they are free, if not, you can only post links to them).
Download here (version 7). Script is free.
Supported now: Fotolia, DreamsTime
